Excellent album sur lequel on retrouve par ailleurs Ronnie Laws, Richard Blue Mitchell et Chuck Rainey... J'y ai trouvé quelques réminiscences "Lonnie Liston Smithiennes" de l'artiste.
Vraiment très bon.

Calypso After Nine (Mon préféré) :

Grosse découverte, Nino, avec l'écoute de "Calypso After Nine" : des cordes aux accents mahlériens sur une rythmique funky laissant échapper un Rhodes (celui de Lamont) en furie

Sinon oui Revpop, çela en fut une pour moi également. Je ne sais pas si c'est le meme artiste mais ce morceau est excellent également :

C'est le bassiste de Brainstorm qui a fait le LP "Music Of The Sun" avec Jerry Peters en 1978.
Le morceau titre est effectivement bien groovy.

Jazz bassist Lamont Johnson's always been a pretty good talent, but he sounds even better on this sweet LP produced and arranged by Jerry Peters during the late 70s. Peters always brings interesting elements to his work – adding in complicated approaches to songs that push them past their usual format – and working here with Johnson, he comes up with a mixture of funk and spacey jazzy sounds, almost in the mode of some of Lonnie Liston Smith's albums on Columbia, but perhaps with a bit more of a straight soul component
