The Kaldirons - You And Me Baby / To Love Someone (That Don't Love You)
(Twinight TWI 131, 1970)
Une ré-édition en 2007 chez Numero Group du seul 45 tours de "The Kaldirons", groupe de Chicago.
"Unfortunately for the group, "To Love Someone" ended up becoming one of Twinight's most obscure singles, with purportedly less than 500 copies ever distributed. This failure is hard to reconcile against the song itself: In short, "To Love Someone" is a monster of a ballad.
Produced by Jimmy Jones (best known for his collaborations with blues/R&B singer Syl Johnson), the song opens with a sweeping string arrangement. Strings are tricky to master in soul music: The right amount lends an important emotional weight, but an overabundance can overwhelm a song's delicate textures. Jones, like his counterpoint across town at Chess (the great Charles Stepney), nails that ideal balance. Even before The Kaldirons' vocal harmony glides in, "To Love Someone" already has the feel of something epic"
D'après une autre source (Soulful Detroit), il serait question d'un album entier, un trésor caché :
"The Kaldirons have a FANTASTIC unreleased album as "The Final Solutions", the whole album is awesome all the way through. The Numero Group record label licensed it and is releasing it hopefully soon, all I have to say is definitely look out for it as it's great all the way through. Really one of the best unreleased albums I've ever heard."
Un live (dans les locaux de Numero Group ?) :

The Kaldirons - To love someone (That don't love you)
Ils ont fait officiellement un 45 tours et un trésor perdu dit la légende.
Des précisions du coté de Numero Group :
"The Kaldirons were a little known west side vocal group managed by Marcelles Burke. He wrote and produced the group’s only single “You And Me Baby” b/w “To Love Someone (That Don’t Love You),” the latter of which features his hallmark string sound. The first of two virtually unknown groups on Twinight, even their manager today can only remember their first names: Ronnie, Darryl, John, & Allen. The dead-on-arrival single was promo’d and expeditiously shelved. Shortly after, the group changed their name to the Final Solution for another run at obscurity"
Un petit extrait de la face A : You and me baby
