The Mayberry Movement - It's So Good To Know / I Think I'm In Love
(Event Records Inc. EV 214, 1974)
"One of the most obscure groups on show here, the Mayberry Movement only ever had one 45 released in the US, ' I think im in love' / ' It's so good to know'. But this melodic, haunting ballad track - which was originaaly scheduled to come out as Event 218 but dosen't appear to have been circulated, if indeed it was ever pressed - is superior to that dance cut, and all soul group freaks will will be grateful to Kents Ady Croasdell for finding it in the vaults and liberating it. Group members Russell and Jesse Mayberry, Ronald Little, Frank Farmer and Frank Peavey once called themselves Hot Ice - but anoraks should note that this wasn't anything to do with the group that is represented here as the Silent Majority ! "
"It came out on an Event 45 in 1974.
It was the group's only release (under that name) but Kent Records (UK) have put out a couple of 'unreleased' tracks of theirs in recent years (they date from the same period & were found in the Event vaults). "
L'unique 45 tours réalisé chez Event en 1974 :
"It's so good to know(Patrick Adams)/I think I'm in love(T.Harrington-G.Holley)
Both sides arranged by Patrick Adams
Both sides produced by G.Carmichael & Patrick Adams for Patrick Adams Productions."
C'est un groupe qui a commis au moins 4 perles sur les 5 titres enregistrés : 2 ballades fondantes + 2 modern soul à la Philly. Qui peut se targuer d'atteindre ce niveau de qualité ?
Face B du 45 tours (Event 1974) : "I Think im in love" :
Ballade Inédite : "What Did I Do Wrong" :
Groove à la sauce Philly Inédite (Written by Ray Dahrouge, produced by Patrick Adams and released on Spring Records in 1974) (ré-édité chez Kent Records 6T 21): "i Can See Him Loving You ":
Voir les différentes versions enregistrées de ce morceau sur ce topic Anderson Brothers - I Can See Him Loving You
Deuxième Groove à la sauce Philly matinée Barry White: Two Wrongs Don't Make A Right (Kent Records TOWN 113 ) :
La face A de leur unique 45 tours "It's So Good To Know", qui devait cartonner d'après leur producteur Patrick Adams, est , étrangement, leur morceau le plus faible...
