Rod Temperton un des plus grands compositeurs, responsable d'innombrables hits pour Michael Jackson (bien sûr) (Off The Wall, Rock With You, Thriller...), George Benson (Give Me The Night,Love x Love, Turn Out The Lamplight), Herbie Hancock (Lite Me Up!, The Bomb, Gettin' to the Good Part, The Fun Tracks, Motor Mouth, Give It All Your Heart), Manhattan Transfer (Spice Of Life & Mistery plus tard repris par Anita Baker), Rufus (Masterjam), Quincy Jones (The Dude Razzamatazz, The Secret Garden), Mica Paris (You Put a Move on My Heart & plus), Bob James (Sign Of The Times), Brothers Johnson (Light Up the Night, You Make Me Wanna Wiggle, All About the Heaven, Stomp), James Ingram (Yah Mo B There),et pêle mêle Aretha Franklin, Stephanie Mills, Jeffrey Osborne, Klymaxx, Second Image, Donna Summer, Patti Austin (Baby Come To Me & +), sans oublier son premier groupe Heatwave (Boogie Nights, Always & Forever, Jitterbuggin, Posin' Til Closin,Groove line, Star Of A Story...)...

James Ingram & M.McDonald - Yah Mo B There
Heatwave – Boogie Nights (Rod aux claviers!)
Heatwave - Gangsters Of The Groove
Ils parlent de Beat It Thriller etc...
Quincy Jones and Rod Temperton discuss Beat It and Thriller
La réaction de Quincy Jones...
"There are simply no words to express how heavy my heart is at the news of the passing of my friend, brother and colleague Rod Temperton. It all starts with the song, and Rod was one of my go to songwriters. He was one of the best, period. Not just for Michael, but for James Ingram, Patti Austin, Rufus and Chaka Khan, Herbie Hancock, and a host of others. His creativity just never stopped. He had an excellent compositional instinct and wrote great music because he had absorbed it to such an extent that it just came straight out of him as if it were second nature. He wrote three songs for Thriller…”Baby Be Mine,” “The Lady in My Life” and “Thriller”; and wrote the Vincent Price intro to “Thriller” in the car on the way from the airport to the studio. To say his talent was insane is an understatement. He was the best friend and brother you could ever work with, and I will forever treasure our friendship and all those decades together in the studio" Quincy Delight Jones, 5 october 2016
